The Relationship Linker and Reference Matcher processes identify the relationship between records at the business and consumer level. For each matching, there are two levels of matching:

  • Consumer
  • Consumer Level 1 - Household level matching
  • Consumer Level 2 - Individual level matching
  • Business
  • Business Level 1 - Company level matching
  • Business Level 2 - Contact level matching

The Relationship Linker and Reference Matcher use a different set of match rules for Consumer versus Business matching, and for Household or Company matching versus Individual or Contact matching. You must specify which level of match rule should be used. The default rules are given for each country. Using the Relationship Linker Rules Editor and Data Comparison Calculator, you can build your own matching patterns and specify how you want matches to be determined for your records.

To specify match rules

  1. From the Navigation or Project View, right-click the Relationship Linker or Reference Matcher process depending on which process you are using and select Edit Process
  2. Click the Process tab. Click Advanced and select theMatch Rules tab.
  3. By default, all levels of match rules (Consumer level 1 and 2, Business level 1 and 2) are selected. Adjust the selection as needed.
  4. Click Linking, Window Sizing, or Reference Matching (for Reference Matcher) tab for more settings.
  5. When you are done with the advanced settings, click Back and click Finish.
