The Relationship Linker and Reference Matcher usually use output from the window key process as input. In a name and address project or business project, the input is available for use after being sorted by the window key. For input, you can specify starting record, maximum number of records, sample records and other options. For output, you can select to generate a transaction output entity, specify the debug option, and filter the output data.

Guidelines:
  • The Relationship Linker and Reference Matcher processes generate three types of output entities. See Output Requirements for Linking for details.
  • When you are processing a large input entity where the number of records exceeds 99,999,999, the values in some of the output attributes are truncated and warning messages are generated for each attribute where the truncation occurred. You can increase the length of the attributes to avoid truncation. For more information, see Processing a Large Number of Records.

Specify the input settings

To specify the input settings

  1. From the Navigation or Project View, right-click the Relationship Linker or Reference Matcher process and select Edit Process.
  2. Click the Input Settings tab.
  3. Enter a numeric value in Start record. This specifies the row in the input data at which the process will begin.
  4. Enter a numeric value in Maximum records. This specifies the maximum number of rows to process. By default, all rows are processed.
  5. Enter a numeric value in Sample every nth row. This specifies that only every Nth row is processed. By default, all rows are processed.
  6. Click the Build expression... button ( ).
  7. Define the criteria or conditions for selecting and/or bypassing rows that will be processed. See Filtering Rows Using Expression Builder.
Note: When multiple settings are specified, records are processed in the following order: Maximum Records, Set Row Filter, Start Record, and Sample Every Nth Row.
  8. Click Finish.

Specify the output settings

To specify the output settings

  1. Click the Output Settings tab.
  2. To generate a transaction output entity, select Generate Output Entity. This option is selected by default.
  3. Click the Build expression... button ( ).
  4. Define the criteria or conditions for selecting and/or bypassing rows that will be processed. See Filtering Rows Using Expression Builder.
  5. Specify the Debug option as needed. See Debug Settings for Linking.
  6. Specify a Sample Count number. This controls the reporting increment of the number of records processed count. These counts are written to the process log starting at the specified value. This output allows you to track progress and helps troubleshoot any problems. By default, this field is blank. If no value is entered, no records are written to the log file.
  7. Click Finish.
