To review the BDP results in the Bp_Misc_Review_Codes attribute, you must first analyze the attribute. You then check certain metadata values to determine review code positions and then drill down to matching data rows.

Note: This procedure assumes the pattern type default is used for your data.

To analyze and review th e Bp_Misc_Review_Codes attribute

  1. From the Navigation or Quality Project View of a BDP project, right-click the BDP output entity and select Analyze....

    The Attribute Selection window opens.

  2. In the Input Attribute column select BP_MISC_REVIEW_CODES.
  3. Click the add button () to move it to the Analysed Attributes column.
  4. Click OK.

    The scheduler notification bar opens.

  5. (Optional) Change the job name.
  6. Do one of the following:
    • To schedule the job to run immediately, click Now. The message closes and the job begins running in the background.
    • Click Later. The Set Date & Time scheduler window opens. To immediately run the job in the background, click Run Now. To schedule a time, select a starting date on the calendar and select a time you want the job to run on the selected date. Click Submit to save the scheduled time.
    • Click Cancel to cancel the task.
Note: All scheduled jobs are run in the background. Note the progress in the Background Tasks List View.
  7. When analysis finishes, from the Navigation View expand the BDP output entity.
  8. Right-click the Bp Misc Review Codes attribute, and select Drill down to Metadata.

The Entity Member Attribute List View opens.

  9. Note the values for the following metadata statistics. They indicate how many review codes, if any, are in the attribute:

    Attribute Metadata

    Description

    Values

Indicates the number of distinct review codes written to the attribute.

    Patterns

Each distinct pattern represents a review code.

    Null Count

Indicates the number of rows that parsed successfully. If this value is 0, none of the data parsed successfully and each row contains a '1' flag value.
Null Dist % If the input attribute parsed successfully, the Bp Misc Review Codes attribute is empty and the Null Count value is 100. If this value is 0.00, the attribute contains review codes.
  10. Right-click the Values row and select Drill down to Values.

    The Values List View displays.

Note the values for the following metadata statistics. They help determine which review codes have been flagged:

    Value Metadata

    Description

    Value

    Displays each distinct '1' flag

    Frequency

Indicates the number of times each distinct '1' flag value occurs in the attribute

Length The character position of the '1' flag

    Pattern

The pattern structure of the '1' flag
  11. Note the Length values for each flagged row. This value corresponds to the review code: for example, a length of 82 corresponds to review code 082, a length of 83 corresponds to review code 083, and so on. For more information, see About Business Data Parser Review Codes.
  12. To view data rows that correspond to a review code, right click a row and select Drill down to Matching Rows.
