The business data parsing process is driven by definitions that you add and customize depending on your data quality needs.
Note: The BDP always uses the output of the Transformer process as input. You must run the
Transformer before you configure the BDP.
Before you run the BDP, configure the process as follows:
- Specify Input. Select the input attribute that contains the business data to be parsed.
- Import customized tables or define word definitions. Import the word definition tables and ignore word tables created during profiling activities, or define categories, word/phrase, patterns, and mask definitions for your data.
- Select Options . Select BDP Options such as including special characters in lookup tables and unknown tokens in the output.
- Customize. Perform optional process customization by editing advanced rules, specifying attribute transformation, customizing output attributes, specifying output settings, and specifying encoding values.
- Check Work. Before you run the BDP, verify word and pattern definitions in the Parser Tuner.
After you configure the BDP, run the process and view the
output:
- Run the BDP process.
- View results.Note: You can test and preview changes and customizations before making the changes permanent.
