There are four control files used by the Customer Data Parser:

  • Mask file
  • Delimiter control file
  • Character control file
  • Domains control file

By default, the encoding value for each of these files is the operating system's native encoding. If necessary, you can change the default encoding for one or more of the control files.

To specify an encoding value

  1. From the Navigation or Project View, right-click Customer Data Parser and select Edit Process.
  2. Select the Options menu option.
  3. Click the Advanced button and select Encodings from the menu. The Encoding window opens.
  4. From the drop-down list, select the encoding value that is appropriate for the control file.
  5. Repeat step 4 for each file you want to define an encoding value.
  6. Click Back.
  7. Click Finish.
