Before you create a DSN entry, you must collaborate with your database administrator to gather relevant information like host name, database name, user login credentials, and other relevant information. This is important because you may need to provide all or some of the information when creating the TSS ODBC DSN entry.

This procedure describes how to create a 64-bit DSN to use with 64-bit ODBC Trillium-Supplied drivers and the ODBC Trillium-Supplied loader connections to connect to data sources in 64-bit enabled databases.

Note: If a new 64-bit DSN is named the same as an existing 32-bit DSN, any existing loader connection using a DSN with that name will automatically point to the 64-bit version of the DSN.

To add a 64-bit DSN entry on Windows

  1. Open the command prompt.

  2. Type in C:\Windows\System32\odbcad32.exe. The 64-bit ODBC Data Source Administrator opens.

  3. Click the System DSN tab.

  4. Click Add to open the Create New Data Source window.

  5. Scroll down and select the appropriate driver, for example, TSS 17 Oracle Driver.

  6. Click Finish. The ODBC configuration page opens. The parameters in the ODBC configuration page will vary depending on the data source.

  7. Specify the required information in the configuration page. See Configuring TSS Oracle Driver on Windows (Example).

If you are configuring a TSS 17 SQL Server Legacy Driver, see SSO and the TSS 17 SQL Server Legacy Driver.

If you are configuring a TSS 17 Hadoop Hive Driver, see About TSS 17 Hadoop Hive Driver.

  8. Click Apply to save your changes.

  9. Click OK to close the configuration window.

  10. Create TSS ODBC loader connection.

TSS ODBC drivers with web-based interface

While configuring DSN on Windows, after you click Finish at step 6, these Trillium supplied ODBC drivers show a web-based interface to configure the selected driver.
  • TSS 17 Autonomous REST Connector Driver

  • TSS 17 Google Analytics Driver

  • TSS 17 Microsoft Dynamics 365 Driver

  • TSS 17 Microsoft SharePoint Driver

  • TSS 17 MongoDB Driver

  • TSS 17 SAP S4HANA Driver

The parameters in the ODBC configuration page will vary depending on the data source.

Limitation with TSS 17 Google BigQuery Driver and TSS 17 Oracle Service Cloud Driver

For the 17.2 release, you can use only the Direct mode of connection to configure DSN for these drivers and cannot use the Auto (where applicable) or Server mode. The connection mode is specified under the SQL Engine tab in the SQL Engine Mode dropdown list.
