By default, columns in List View are wide enough to accommodate the maximum length of the data they contain. You can adjust the width of a column so that it is based on the column label instead. This may mean that the data values in the column are not fully displayed, depending on the size of the label and the size of the values. For example, if the column label is "City" and you resize the column to fit that label, a value of Tallahassee will not be fully displayed.
To resize a specific column to fit the label
Method 1
Method 1: To resize all columns in the current view to fit the column label
- In a List View, right-click a column label.
- Select All Column Widths > Fit to Heading. All column widths are resized to the width of their data. This change remains in effect only until you change to another view.
Method 2
Method 2: To resize all columns in all views to fit the column label
- On the Advanced tab, click Options. The Options window opens, displaying the Environment options.
- In the Navigation View, click List View.
- In the right pane, clear the Fit column widths to data values check box. The next time you display a List View, the new setting is applied.
