You can rearrange the data displayed in a List View so that the rows are displayed vertically; that is, each row is displayed as a column. Columns, as a result, are pivoted to the row position.
Note: The limit to pivoting data is 64 rows.
Note: Rows that are not selected are automatically hidden.
Consider pivoting rows when your data spans many columns and would otherwise require scroll bars to view.
To pivot rows and columns in a List View pane
-
In the List View, select the rows and columns you want to pivot by highlighting them.
-
Right-click on the highlighted rows and columns, and select Change View > Pivot.
-
Verify that the data you selected is now pivoted.
Note: Select multiple rows or columns by using the Ctrl and Shift keys. You can also
use Ctrl+A to select all rows.
Note: The new positions are displayed only for the period in which the List View pane
remains displayed. As soon as you close the List View, you lose the column
changes. If you want to save the view, you can create a
bookmark or
export the data to
a file.
