Time Series projects show trends in data compliance. The trends are based on a series of entities, each representing a different iteration of the source data. Depending on how you defined the Time Series project, the next entity may be generated automatically or manually.

You can use this procedure to "force" the generation of a new entity in a Time Series project that is set up for automated updates.

Note the following:

  • If you change the location of the data source by editing the loader connection in the Repository Manager, the data loaded into subsequent entity generations will reflect the updated data source.
  • Automation Interval settings are not reset when you generate the next entity; they remain unchanged until you modify them.
  • Generate the next entity at either the project or entity level.

To manually generate the next entity in a Time Series project

  1. From the Navigation View, right-click a Time Series Analysis project and do one of the following:
    • Select Generate next entity....
    • Select Open. In the Time Series Analysis Entities Icon View, right-click an entity and select Generate next entity....

The Generate Next Entity in Series window opens.

  2. In Data Source, enter the data table or file name that the project will use to generate the next entity in the series.

The data source name may be the same used for previous generations of the data source (if the original data file was overwritten) or it may be a different file name, depending on how your company configures data loads and updates.

  3. Click OK.

The entity is added to the project.
