You can see how often values occur for different attributes by examining attribute metadata, and from there you can examine data content. For example, you can examine the maximum length of an attribute to find out how many values have a length matching the maximum length. Unexpected high or low frequencies for specific values may indicate poor data quality.
To examine the frequencies of attribute metadata
- In the Navigation View, click the Discover bar, then click the Entities tab.
- Expand the entity with which you want to work.

Double-click an attribute.
The Entity Member Attribute List View opens.
The following table lists the attribute metadata for which there is frequency count information.

Integer Min
the minimum integer value in the attribute and how many times it occurs.
Integers
each integer value in the attribute and how many times it occurs.
Masks
each mask value in the attribute and how many times it occurs.
Max
largest value in the attribute and how many times it occurs.
Max Len
longest value in the attribute and how many times it occurs.
Metaphones
each metaphone value in the attribute and how many times it occurs.
Min
smallest value in the attribute and how many times it occurs.
Min Len
shortest value in the attribute and how many times it occurs.
Patterns
each pattern value and how many times it occurs.
Soundexes
each soundex value in the attribute and how many times it occurs.
Strings
each string value in the attribute and how many times it occurs.
Values
each value and the number of times it occurs.

Double-click one of these metadata rows.
The frequency count displays in a column in the List View of the selected metadata value.
- To view matching rows or values, select the rows to examine by highlighting them.
- Right-click and select Drill down to matching rows or Drill down to matching values.
- Examine the rows for the values you selected.
