Derived metadata rules are statistics (such as metaphones and patterns) generated for all attributes when data is imported or when you analyze derived metadata rule statistics as a part of modifying an attribute's properties.

Viewing and Analyzing Derived Metadata Rules
You can open List Views of derived metadata rule details for single attributes or for all attributes in an entity. From this view you can modify the derived metadata and run an analysis of pending derived metadata.
To view derived metadata for a single attribute
- Do one of the following:
- In Navigation View, right-click an attribute and select Drill down to derived metadata rules.
- In the Summary Data View for an attribute, click Derived Metadata Rules from any tab.

- To make changes to the derived metadata, right-click the attribute and select Edit attribute or edit selected attributes. For more information, see Modifying Attribute Properties.
- From Navigation View, right-click an entity and select Drill down to
derived metadata rules.

- To make changes to the derived metadata of one, multiple, or all attributes, highlight the attributes, right-click, and select Edit selected attributes. For more information, see Modifying Attribute Properties.
- In a Derived Metadata Rules List View, right-click one or more attributes and select Analyze pending derived metadata rules.
- Click Now to start the analysis or Later to schedule it for another date and time.
