Value counts show how often a specific data value occurs within an attribute (field/column). Another way to refer to "value counts" is "frequency count". When you want to find the value count, you are asking the question, "How frequently does a value occur in a given attribute".

Very high or very low counts may indicate poor data quality. If you suspect poor quality, you can drill down to examine values and where they appear in table rows.

To find the value counts in an attribute

  1. From the Navigation View, locate the attribute with which you want to work.
  2. Double-click the attribute.

The Entity Member Attribute List View opens.

  3. Note the Value column which lists the counts for Values, Patterns, Strings and other values.
  4. Right-click a metadata row such as Values or Patterns and select Drill Down to... to view more information about the metadata.
