If you have an attribute that has a large number of values compared to the number of metaphones, this is an indication that you may have multiple misspelled values.

Before you can determine whether a value is correct or not, you may first need to examine entity rows and understand the context of a value.

Note: Metaphone analysis is not available for numeric values and non-ASCII encoded data.

View Metaphones

To view metaphones

  1. In the Navigation View, click the Discover bar, then click the Entities tab.
  2. Expand the entity with which you want to work.
  3. Click the attribute with which you want to work.

The Summary Data View for the selected attribute opens.

  4. Click the Content Summary tab and click Metaphones Distribution.

The Top 5 Metaphones pie chart displays, showing the 5 metaphones that occur the most in the attribute, and a section that represents the total percentage of all other metaphones found. (If no chart displays, the attribute has no metaphones.)

  5. Click Validity, and note the Metaphone Count. (If you do not see this metadata, the attribute has no metaphones.)
  6. Click Metaphone Count.

The Metaphones List View opens. (You can also click the Top 5 Metaphones pie chart to open this List View.)

  7. Examine the Metaphones List View.
