The Control Center presents a list of potential keys found during the data import process. Trillium samples the first 10,000 rows of data to find potential single- and double-attribute key combinations that are at least 98% distinct.

To verify potential keys found during key analysis

  1. In the Navigation View, click the Discover bar, then click the Entities tab.
  2. Right-click a real entity and select Drill down to Metadata. The Entity List View displays.
  3. Double-click Discovered Keys. The Keys List View displays, showing all potential keys discovered during the import process.
    Note: The Analysis tab also shows all potential keys found during import. This analysis is grouped in the Keys > Key Analysis Results folder. Double-click each folder to view the potential keys.
  4. Review the information about each key.
  5. Right-click one or more keys. See the following table to help you decide what action to take:

    If Discovered Key...

    Action

    is a potential key and has not been verified against the full data volume.

    Verify

    is a potential key and has been verified against the full data volume.

    Set Permanent

    could act as a key and has not been verified against the full data volume.

    Verify

    could act as a key and has been verified against the full data volume.

    Set Permanent

    has status of permanent, but should be discovered.

    Set Discovered

    could never act as a key.
