After you review the potential dependencies found during the data import process, you must verify which dependencies are valid.

To verify a dependency

  1. In the Navigation View, click the entity in which you are interested.

The Summary Data View for the selected entity opens.

  2. Click the Relationship Summary tab.
  3. Under Dependencies, click Discovered.
Note: If no dependencies were discovered and you expected to find potential dependencies, re-run the dependency analysis using different criteria.

The Discovered List View opens. Review the information for each dependency.

  4. Right-click one or more dependency and use the following table to help you decide which option to select:
    If the Dependency… Select…
Is a potential dependency and has not been verified against the full data volume Verify
Is a potential dependency and has been verified against the full data volume Set Permanent
Could act as a dependency and has not been verified against the full data volume Verify
Could act as a dependency and has been verified against the full data volume Set Permanent
Could never be a dependency Delete
Note: As you save (Set Permanent) or Delete each potential dependency, refresh the views to see the metadata statistics change to reflect your actions.
