Use this procedure to edit the expression elements (functions and operators) of library EBRs and ABRs.

Note: You must have Edit privileges on a rule to edit it.

To edit a library rule

  1. Click the Library tab and expand Business Rules.
  2. Do one of the following, depending on the type of library rule:
    • Expand Entity Business Rules and expand the entity that contains the rule to be modified, then expand Rules.
    • Expand Attribute Business Rules and expand the attribute that contains the rule to be modified.
  3. Right-click the rule you want to edit and select Edit....

    The Edit Rule window opens.

  4. Edit the rule expression as needed.
Note: An ABR in the Standard library attribute that is not enabled will not be run automatically against attributes when they are imported.
  5. To see any entities and attributes associated with the rule, click Impact.

A list of objects that will be affected by the edits displays.

  6. Do one of the following:
    • Check the Disassociate box for any objects that you do not want the changes to affect.
Note: Modifying associations for one rule affects the all rules in its associated attribute or entity; select Disassociate only if you want the all rules within the current library attribute/entity to be disassociated.
    • Click Back to return to the expression window without saving association changes.
  7. Click Finish to save your changes and close the window.
  8. Re-analyze any associated (derived) rules as necessary.
