You can create new library attributes to which stand-alone ABRs can be promoted, and newly created library ABRs can be added. Create as many attributes as you need to store and reuse ABRs.

After you create a library attribute, you can edit the name and description. You must have Create privileges on the Attribute Business Rules folder to create a library attribute. You must have Edit privileges on a library attribute to edit it.

Note: If you modify the name of the Standard attribute, the ABRs that it contains will not run correctly against subsequent data imports if the Copy standard attributes business rules to attributes loader setting is enabled in the Repository Manager. As a best practice, do not modify the Standard attribute.

Create a library attribute

To create a library attribute

  1. In the Navigation View, on the Library tab, expand Business Rules.
  2. Right-click Attribute Business Rules and select New Attribute.

The Add Library Attribute window opens.

  3. Enter a Name and Description for the new attribute.
  4. Click Finish.

A Library attribute created message displays.

  5. Click Close.
  6. Refresh the view, if necessary.

In the Navigation View, the attribute is added to bottom of the list of library attributes with a unique reference number in parentheses. (If the number is missing, turn on this option for all attributes and entities from the Options window: click the Advanced tab and click Options. In the Options window, click Environment > Show object identity numbers.)

  7. To add a new ABR to the library attribute, right-click the attribute and select Add Rule. For more information, see Creating Library ABRs.

Edit a library attribute

To edit a library attribute

  1. Right-click the library attribute you want to edit and select Edit.

The Edit Library Attribute window opens.

  2. Modify the Name and Description as needed and click Finish
