The Expression Builder is an application that you use to query your data by performing operations and running functions. Use the Expression Builder to perform the following tasks:

The Expression Builder is an application that you use to query your data by performing operations and running functions. Use the Expression Builder to perform the following tasks:

• Filter List View. Define data filters to display rows that match specified criteria in a List View.
• Filter input and output rows. Define data filter conditions created to bypass specified input or output rows for a Quality process.
• Create and modify business rules. Create specific data quality standards against which entities and attributes are validated.
• Set conditional statements. Create an IF/ELSE clause to determine how data is processed in certain Quality processes. IF statements set conditions that are defined using attribute names, operators, functions, and data values.
• Perform attribute transformations. Create business rules for Attribute Transformations of an original value to another value within an attribute for input data or output data.

You can also use the Expression Builder to do the following:

• Create a List View attribute (column)
• Create a filter to select rows to include in a join
• Filter relational database data when you create an entity
