The Control Center provides business rule compliance statistics that allow you to see how well data in entities and attributes comply with your business rules.
You view business rule compliance:
- For a single entity
- For a single attribute
- For all entities in a repository
- For all attributes in an entity
How Rule Compliance Works
The percentage of entity and attribute rows and values that fail a rule determines the quality of your data based on the standards (thresholds) that you set. The higher the passing percentage, the better the compliance level.
- Entities. Each data row of an entity is analyzed for compliance against all enabled EBRs for that entity, as well as enabled ABRs for the attributes in the entity.
- Attributes. Each data row or value of an attribute is analyzed for compliance against all enabled ABRs for that attribute.
Note the following guidelines:
- The Compliance % metadata may change when you edit a rule's threshold or when you enable or disable a rule. For example, if you enabled four (4) ABRs and the attribute passed three (3) of the checks, then the compliance percentage would be 3 divided by 4, or 75%. Derived (inherited) rules are not included in the compliance percentage.
- The Coverage % metadata indicates the percentage of business rules enabled for an entity or attribute. For example, if you run ten ABRs against an attribute, and only two are enabled, then the coverage for that attribute is 20%. You view Coverage % metadata in the Compliance Check window only.
