Reconstruction rules are specified by the CONDITIONALS parameter in the Output Conditionals section. This parameter includes arguments that contain instructions and commands.

Guidelines

When creating a conditional statement, follow these guidelines:

  • Enter a conditional statement after the CONDITIONALS parameter in the Output Conditionals section.
  • Use the CONDITION argument to specify one or more conditions for processing your data.
  • Use the FOR_FILES argument to specify the files to which the conditional statement applies.
  • (Optional) Use the CONDITIONAL_ENCODING argument to specify the encoding of the CONDITION argument.
  • Begin each block of data that contains a conditional statement with the ENTRY and ENTRY_ID arguments.

See List of Conditional Statement Arguments and Description of Conditional Statement Arguments.

To specify a conditional statement

  1. Specify a conditional statement under the CONDITION argument. See the following topics for details:

For an example, see Conditionals Settings Examples.

  2. Click Finish to save the changes.
Note: All of the arguments are specified as XML elements in XML file format. You must therefore follow the standard XML format when you edit them.
