The Transformer process includes the delimited file option. When this option is enabled, the Control Center runs the Transformer process twice: once to produce the standard output file and once to produce the delimited output. The delimited file is created on the client machine in the repository's export directory.

Note: This option only works for a Quality project run in the Control Center. It does not apply to exported batch projects.

To enable the delimited export option

  1. Open the Transformer process for editing.
  2. Select the Output Settings tab. The Transformer Configuration Output Settings window opens.
  3. Check the box labeled Generate additional delimited file.
  4. Complete the fields or accept the defaults in the Delimited file options section of the window.
    Option Description

    File name

Provide a file name for the output file.

    Delimiter

Select the delimiter. If the delimiter that you want is not in the Delimiter drop-down list:

Click Advanced Delimiter. Specify a single or double delimiter by clicking through the Decimal Representation list. This window also shows the hexadecimal (HEX) representation of the delimiter. When using double delimiters, click Double and select one delimiter from the Single list and one from the Double list. Click OK. The new delimiter displays in the Delimiter field.
Delimiter encoding Select the delimiter encoding.
    Use file headers

Select one of the following options:

    • No header file
    • Header record if file contains data
    • Header record always
Use quotes as qualifiers Select this option if you want to enclose values in quotation marks in the output file.
  5. Click Finish.
