To specify Global Postal Matcher options

1. From the Navigation or Project View, right-click the xx Postal Matcher (xx = country code) process and select Edit Process.
2. Select the Options tab. The Postal Matcher Options window displays.
3. Select the Address Casing to use when formatting address data.
   • Proper - Proper case with diacritics. UTF8
   • Upper - Upper case with diacritics. UTF8 (default)
   • Lower - Lower case with diacritics. UTF8
   • US ASCII Upper - Upper case without diacritics
   • Nocase - Original input
4. Select the Transliteration method to use when formatting data.
   • Retain Diacritics (default)
   • Strip Diacritics
   • Transliterate
5. Select the Acceptance Level option. This setting specifies the minimum validation level that a record must reach in order to be considered as satisfactory and not to revert.
   • Default - The built-in country specific levels will be used.
   Note: This is the default for pre-Version 14.0 Global Postal Matcher.
   • City (default)
   • Postcode
   • Street
6. Specify the Inner Match Score. This is the minimal score required for a record not to revert. Default is 60. Valid range is 0-100.
7. If you want the data to be validated against all sources, check the Validate against all sources check box. Turning on this option will allow the Global Postal Matcher to return the best match from multiple sources instead of just one source. Default is only one source.
8. Select the Delivery Type. This option specifies the type of delivery address.
   • Pre-V15 functionality (default) - Delivery address and change flags will not be filled.
   • Street name, house number, sub building
   • House number, street name, sub building
   • Sub building, street name, house number
   • Sub building, house number, street name
   • Basic countries
9. In the Timeout (seconds) field, enter a numeric value for the maximum amount of time in seconds that the Global Postal Matcher is allowed to take. When a timeout occurs, the entry "Records Failed due to server failure." will be included in the Statistics file. The default timeout is 5 seconds.

To specify Global Postal Matcher Advanced options

1. Click Advanced. The Advanced Options window opens.
2. To enforce blanks, check the Enforce blanks box. This option clears populated address attributes if the Global Address Verification (GAV) table specifies that it should be blank for the matched address.
   Note: Do not select the Enforce blanks option unless requested to do so by Precisely Support or Professional Services department.
3. Select appropriate check boxes in the Return Primary Alias section to obtain aliases in the output. You can select multiple boxes.

   Example

   For Austria, If you want to return the full sub building name which is available with the new Austria Post directory, select Sub Building. If the input is "HÜTTELDORFER STRAßE 127, 2   1140 WIEN, " the full sub building name "STIEGE 2" will be stored in the sub building attribute instead of just '2' in the output.

   For Poland, if you want to return the accented city names, select City. If the Input is "Aleksandry 11 30-800 Krakow," the accented city name "KRAKÓW" will be stored in the city attribute in the output.

4. Click Back.

To specify Global Postal Matcher inputs

The Global Postal Matcher uses the output attributes from the Customer Data Parser. These attributes are country-specific and automatically supplied, but you can change one or more of the default attributes or you can specify attributes for an undefined address line.

1. Review the current attributes in the Assignable Attributes and Specify Input Lines sections. By default, the Global Postal Matcher uses Postcode, City, Region, Company (if any), plus the output address attributes from the Customer Data Parser such as Premise, Street, and PO Box as inputs. Specifying your own input attributes will override this default setting. Therefore If you select to specify input attributes, you must specify key address attributes such as premise, street, and neighborhood to obtain satisfactory results.
2. Perform the following task:
   • To add an attribute to an undefined address line
   1. Select the blank line in the Assignable Attributes or Specify Input Lines section.
   2. Select an attribute to add in the Available Attributes list.
   3. Click >.
   • To change the attribute
   1. Delete the attribute in the Assignable Attributes or Specify Input Lines section.
   2. Select an attribute in the Available Attributes list.
   3. Click >.
   • To concatenate attributes
   1. Select the attribute you want to concatenate in the Assignable Attributes or Specify Input Lines section.
   2. Select an attribute in the Available Attributes list.
   3. Click >.
   Note: You can concatenate up to six attributes per input line.
3. Click Finish.
