You can use the word definition tables and ignore word tables created during profiling activities or outside of the project for your business data project. You import the tables from the Library or client system to the Business Data Parser (BDP), verify and edit them in the Parser Tuner, and then run the BDP.

Guidelines

  • You cannot import an ignore word table or a word definition table that were created in Pre-V15 version of TSS.
  • You can import multiple tables at a time from the Library. Entries will be appended with date and time stamp for each table.
  • When importing multiple word definition tables at the same time, if there are same named categories defined as both a single and multiple, an error message is displayed. Resolve the conflicts before importing the tables.
  • Imported duplicate entries operation will be changed from Insert (INS) to Modify (MOD).
  • Imported ignore word table works differently than the IGNORE (IGN) parser attribute. Entries will be automatically recoded to commas. See Ignore Word Tables for Business Data Parser for details.
  • The default encoding for those tables is UCS2. If you are using specific language, for example Japanese (CP932), specify encoding from the Encoding tab. See Specifying Business Data Parser Encoding Values.

To import an ignore word table and word definition table

  1. From the Navigation or Project View, right-click the Business Data Parser process and select Edit Process.
  2. Click Tools.
  3. Click Import Customized Table. The Import Customized Table window opens. The tables in the Library are displayed.
  4. Do one of the following:
    • To use the tables in the Library, select Choose from library and select the table name. You can select both types of tables and multiple tables for each type at the same time.
    • To use the table in another location, select Choose from client, check Ignore Words Table or Word Definition Table, browse to your file system and select the table. Only one table can be imported at a time using this option.
  5. If you are importing ignore word tables and you have Multi categories, select Category to apply for each ignore word table. See Ignore Word Tables for Business Data Parser about how to use ignore word tables for BDP.
  6. (Optional) To remove unused attributes from the output when the BDP is run, select Automatically remove unused attributes. By default, a business data project includes 50 sets of output attributes in the output schema. If you do not select this option, all unused attributes will remain in the output schema after the process is run.
Note: This option is not available for an ignore word table.
  7. Click Import.
  8. When you see the message "Import Compete" click OK.
  9. Click Launch Parser Tuner. The Parser Tuner opens.
  10. Click Customized Definitions(word definition table) or Ignore Words table in the Navigation pane to view the table you imported.
  11. Verify the entries and make changes if necessary. For the word definition table, you can change the dummy pattern to your desired patterns. You must be familiar with parser syntax, conventions , and patterns before customizing definitions and patterns in the Parser Tuner.
Note: The Customized Definitions (word definition) table must contain at least one pattern before the BDP will run.
  12. Click File > Save to save your changes.
  13. Click File > Exit to close the Parser Tuner.
  14. Click Run Parser Customization to compile the tables.
  15. When you see the message "Successful" click OK. If the process finds errors, it reports them in the log file. If necessary, relaunch the Parser Tuner and return to the tables to make further changes.
  16. Click Finish to save your work.
  17. Proceed to configure and run the BDP.
