This section describes how to retain changes made to the config.txt file during an upgrade to TSS version v15.x from any previous version (on either Windows or UNIX systems). All changes made post v15.0 are retained during an upgrade.

During an upgrade, the system can automatically detect changes made to the config.txt server configuration file on your system. Once identified, the upgrade process automatically renames the custom config file to config.txt.backup and installs a new, clean config.txt file in the etc directory.

To retain your custom configurations, you must complete the following procedure after the upgrade.

Note: Modifications can, among other items, include changing of the license server location and modifying time-out settings.

To retain modifications made to config.txt

  1. Complete the upgrade to TSS 15.x.

  2. On the TSS server system, open the new config.txt file located in the etc directory of your TSS repository server installation path.

    • Windows - Install_path\Trillium Software\MBSW\15\etc

    • UNIX - /TrilliumSoftware/server/metabase/etc

  3. Open the config.txt.backup file for reference and make the modifications you want to retain in the new config.txt file.

Note: Do not rename the backup file to config.txt. For the TSS repository server to be properly configured, you must make the changes in the new, version 15-compliant config.txt file.
  4. Save and close the config.txt file.

  5. (Optional) Delete the config.txt backup file.

  6. Restart the TSS Scheduler service.
