™ Precise Web Services - 17.1

™ Precise is an optional JSON-based web service available for use with the Transformer and allows you to validate business and personal e-mail addresses and phone numbers. Validation includes checking that the e-mail address or phone number is valid, whether the registered name matches the input name, validating the country code with which it is associated, and other validation information. Data can be validated during a batch process or in real time as records are entered.

When Precise is available, using the Precise map files included in your installation, you can configure the Transformer to send a name, address, e-mail address, IP address, and/or phone number to the web server to request validation. When the Transformer is run, the validation results are returned to the Transformer output. Each web service call can include a maximum of one e-mail address and one phone number. If multiple phone numbers and/or e-mail addresses are contained in the record, you can request multiple web service calls using multiple map files. For example, if your record contains two e-mail addresses and three phone numbers, you can call a total of three web service calls using three map files: one call with e-mail 1 and phone 1, one call for e-mail 2 and phone 2, and one call for phone 3.
