Trillium Geolocation uses the Knowledge Base to parse input addresses, identify address components, validate address components, perform address searching, correctly format output addresses, and assign geocodes (latitude / longitude coordinates), and other enhancements to addresses.
The Trillium Geolocation JUL / 2024Q3 Data Update contains Knowledge Base improvements for the following countries and territories:
Austria
The parsing process for Austria has been updated to correctly standardize the merged municipality of Söding-Sankt Johann in the address validation table.
Belarus
The address validation table for Belarus now includes the Russian transliteration 'Zhodino' for the city of 'Zhodzina'.
China (Latin)
The parsing process for China (Latin) has been updated to preserve the Latin spellings of certain city and prefecture transliterations (for example: ‘Aral’, ‘Bayannur’, ‘Harbin’).
Estonia
The parsing process for Estonia has been updated to correctly standardize ‘Keila vald’ to the merged municipality of Lääne-Harju vald in the address validation table.
Guernsey
The parsing process for Guernsey has been updated to correctly standardize ‘St Peter in the Wood’ to ‘St Pierre du Bois’ in the address validation table
Israel
The parsing process for Israel has been updated to correctly standardize ‘Degania Alef’ and ‘Degania Bet’.
Philippines
The address validation table for Philippines now reflects recent administrative province changes (‘Maguindanao’ splits into two separate provinces, ‘Maguindanao de Norte’ and ‘Maguindanao del Sur’).
Taiwan (Chinese and Latin)
The address validation tables for Taiwan (Chinese and Latin) now include alley, lane and section information separately from street, in the sub-street field.
Switzerland
The address validation table for Switzerland now includes the correct primary version for certain cities (for example, ‘Wädenswil’/’Wädenswil LZ’).
Türkiye
The parsing process for Türkiye (Turkey) has been updated to improve the recognition of building/ street and city/sub-city in address lines, as well as company, building, and street types, PO boxes, building numbers and sub-building (for example: ‘Kat 1A’/’K:1A’, ‘A.Ş.’, ‘T.A.Ş.’, ‘T.L.Ş.’, ‘Şubesi’).
United Kingdom
Validation rules for the United Kingdom have been adjusted so that an exact match on postcode, street and building name or number will take precedence over a simple match on street, city, postcode.
United States
The address validation table for the United States now reflects the nine Councils of Governments in the state of Connecticut, replacing the former eight legacy counties.
