You can add notes to any attribute and data source to which you have access in the current repository. After a note is added, it can be edited, commented on, exported, or deleted as needed.
To add a note to a data source or attribute

Open a data source.

Do one of the following:
- To add a note to the data source, click the Summary or Properties tab.
- To add a note to a data source attribute, click the Attribute Details tab and select an attribute in the Attribute Name list.

Click the Notes button. The Notes or Notes: attribute_name tab opens below the Data Source: Name panel.

Click Add Note. The Add a Note window opens.

In the Subject field, enter a meaningful label for the note.

For Class, select the class associated with your subject.

For Subclass, select the subclass associated with your subject.

For Business Impact, select how this note impacts your business. Either No Impact, LowImpact, MediumImpact, or High Impact.

For Project Impact, select how this note impacts your project: Either No Impact, LowImpact, MediumImpact, or High Impact.

In the text field, enter the content of your note. You can paste information copied from other sources such as a Word document or an Excel spreadsheet.

Click Save. The window closes and the Notes tab updates to show the new note.
