You can search on the full set of data sources in the current repository. Use the Show All option to return a view of all available data sources. Use the Filtered Search option to narrow your search using one or more conditions. For each condition, optionally add one or more sub-groups. Adding a sub-group refines the search by categorizing the results. For example, you can build the following condition and sub-group to find all UK data sources created by the user mfrenger: "Data Source Name contains UK" and "Loaded by equals mfrenger".
To search for data sources

On the navigation menu, click Data Discovery > View Data Sources. The
Find Data Sources panel opens showing the Show All and Filtered Search options. By
default, the Show All search is active and the view populated with all data sources
in the repository.
You can also run a quick data source search using the Find Panel on the Home page or from the universal search.

To run a search using conditions:
- Click Filtered Search. The conditions panel opens.
- Select the ALL (default) or ANY operator to build one or more condition(s).

Build your conditions by selecting the metadata (left drop-down list),
operators (middle drop-down list), and populating the right text box or
drop-down list depending on the metadata and operators you select:
- Click the data source metadata drop-down list (left) and select one of the following options:

Note: Depending on the metadata selected, not all operators are available.- In the text box (right), enter the keyword by which to filter the data sources. The text you enter is not case-sensitive.- If you selected Date Loaded, click the calendar icon () to choose a date on which to filter. - If you selected Added as, the text box is replaced with a drop-down list of the following options: Profiled, Dynamic. - If you selected Source Type, the text box is replaced with a drop-down list of the following options:
Cobol
Fixed-Length
DB2
ODBC
Delimited
Oracle
- To add a condition, click the Add condition icon ().
- To remove a condition, click the Remove condition icon () .
- To add a sub-group, click Add Sub-group and add conditions for the group as needed.
- To remove a sub-group, click the Remove group icon ().
- To remove all conditions and sub-groups and start a new search, click Clear.
- Click Show Results. Data sources matching the search criteria are listed in the Data Sources results view. If the data source is dynamic, a bolt icon () displays next to the data source name.

To see additional information about the data source, on the Data Sources results
view double-click a data source. The Data Source: Name panel opens, which
includes the Properties, Summary, and Attribute Details tabs on the top left, and the
Attribute Summary, Source Metadata, Data Rows, and Rule Results tabs below the
panel:
- Click the Properties tab to view an overview of metadata, drill down to associated rules, attributes, rule sets, and data rows, add a new rule, and change the data source name and description. See Editing Data Source Properties.
- Click the Summary tab to view data source metadata in pie and bar charts, and the join, key, and dependency relationships table. See Data Source Summary.
- Click the Attribute Details tab to see attribute metadata in pie and bar charts. See Data Source Attribute Details.
- Click the Attribute Summary tab to view and export metadata about the attributes in the data source. See Viewing Attributes. Double-click a row to see more information about an attribute's metadata.
- Click the Source Metadata tab to view and export details about the data source (available when the Data Source Summary tab is active). If the data source is dynamic, a subset of metadata displays. See Data Source Metadata. Double-click a row highlighted in blue to open a tab showing attribute data values and associated metadata.
- Click the Data Rows tab to view and export the data rows contained in the data source. See Viewing Data Rows. If the data source is dynamic, a bolt icon ( ) displays on the tab.
- Click the Rule Results tab to view, run, and export rules contained in the data source. If the data source contains no rules or is dynamic, this tab is unavailable.
- To return to the Data Sources results view, click Done.
