Data sources contain attributes with rows of data that correspond to the data stored externally in a file or table. The Discovery Center analyzes the records/rows you import when you create a data source.
Reviewing data rows helps you understand the structure of your data, the relationships data values have to each other, and the distribution of your data in an attribute and across data sources. This insight gives you the tools to better understand your data, make decisions about the how to define your data quality standards, and create appropriate business rules.
Note: A row cannot exist in a repository without a data source.
