After running a business rule analysis, you can export the analysis results to your server or local system. The exported file is saved in the comma-delimited format (.CSV) with double-quotes so that you can use it in other applications for data remediation. If you export all rows, you can only export to the server system.

Note: There may be differences between the exported file and the view in the Discovery Center for the number of decimal digits displayed for numeric columns.
To export rule analysis results
  1. In the Rules Search Results view, double-click the business rule. The Rule Analysis Results view opens.
    • If the business rule is disabled, you see the message: Rule is currently disabled.
    • If the business rule requires analysis, you see the message: Rule requires analysis.
  2. Click one of the following results tabs (not all tabs may be available):
    • Failing Results
    • Passing Results
    • Group By Results, including grouped_value Failed and grouped_value Passed tabs
  3. Select the data rows and columns you want to export.
  4. Click Export Rows and select Export Selected Rows or Export All Rows. The Export Selected Rows or Export All Rows window opens.
  5. If you export selected rows, select one of following Export to destinations.
    • Select Server file system to export a file to the server system. The exported file(s) are saved in the default export location: (C:\Program Data\Trillium Software\MBSW\version\Data\export)
    • Select Local file system to export to your local file system.
  6. Enter a name for the file. Do not include any of the following invalid characters in the file name: \ / : * ? " < > |
  7. When you export all rows, the Rows for Export section displays. Choose an export option:
    • All rows. All available rows will be exported.
    • Maximum rows (the default). Only the specified number of rows will be exported. Enter a value up to 2147483647. The default is 5000000. This restriction ensures that a large dataset export will not exceed the file limits imposed on .CSV files.
  8. Click Export.

For server exports, the file is exported to the default export location. If there is a file with the same name in the download location, it will be replaced with the new file.

If you are exporting to your local system, do one of the following:

    • Click Save. The file is exported to your browser's default download location: C:\Users\username\Downloads. If there is a file with the same name in the download location, the file name will be appended with a unique number.
    • Click Save As to save the file to a specific location. In the Save As window, browse to the location where you want to save the file and click Save. If there is a file with the same name in the download location, you are prompted to replace the file. Click Yes to replace the file or No and then enter a unique name. Click Save.
    • Click Save and Open to save the file to the default location and open the file now. If there is a file with the same name in the download location, the new file name will be appended with a unique number.
  9. Open the Task Manager and check the export job status.
