The Find panel on the Home page gives you the tools to quickly locate all data connections on the current repository server. You run a search to return available data connections or filter the search to refine the results by using conditions.
To search for all data connections
- On the Home page, go to the Find panel.
- In the Choose a category drop-down list, select Data Connections.
- To find all available connections, click Find All. A results page displays showing all available connections. To filter the results, click Filtered Search and run a search using conditions.

To run a filtered search for data connections
- On the Home page, go to the Find panel.
- In the Choose a category drop-down list, select Data Connections.

From the filter search drop-down list, select one of the following options and
enter associated criteria:
Note: Text strings you enter are not case-sensitive.
Options Description Connection ID
In the equals field, enter the unique ID value of the data connection. Connection Name
In the contains field, enter part or all of the connection name. Connection Type
In the equals drop-down list, select one of the following connection types:
- COBOL
- DB2
- Delimited
- Fixed-Length
- ODBC
- ODBC (Vendor)
- Oracle
Note:If the list of types cannot be returned, verify your connection to the repository server.
Created By
In the contains field, enter the ID of the user who added the data connection.
Date Changed
In the equals field, click the calendar icon () and choose the date the connection was changed.
Date Created
In the equals field, click the calendar icon () and choose the date the connection was added. Description
In the contains field, enter part or all of the connection description.
Edited By
In the contains field, enter the ID of the user who last edited the connection properties.
Enabled In the equals drop-down list, select yes or no. Filter In the contains field, enter the number of notes applied to the connection. Note Count In the equals field, enter the note count value of the data connection. Parameters
In the contains field, enter part of all of a connection parameter. Parameters include the directory path to the data files, data file extensions, and the directory path to schema files. Repository Access In the contains field, enter All to see connections that have access to all repositories or the names of one or more repositories (separated with a comma) with access permissions to the connection. Single Sign-On In the equals drop-down list, select yes or no. For example, select yes to see only those connections that are configured to use single sign-on. -
Click the Search icon ().
Data connections matching the search criteria are shown in a filtered results
view. If the search returns no match, the message
No results were found using the current filter
