If you are adding data connections to point to relational databases, ensure that your databases are properly configured before adding data sources.
Note: Duplicate row ID (formerly checksum) calculation, sparse row counting, and row length
statistics for ODBC connections are not supported.
The Discovery Center can import or link to data from Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) as follows:
- Direct connection to Oracle and DB2.
Note: For Oracle connections, 32-bit Oracle libraries are required; 64-bit libraries are not
supported.
- ODBC connection - Drivers installed with TSS.
- ODBC (vendor) connection - Drivers supplied by database vendors.
- RDBMS extraction into a delimited file with a corresponding ANSI DDL.
Note: NATIONAL data type for RDBMS loads is not supported.
- Supported Relational Databases

The following table lists supported relational database clients, their version, and driver information.(TSS ODBC connections support additional database versions. For information, see Using the ODBC Data Connection.)
Database Version Driver Supported Database Clients for Direct Connections DB2 9.1, 8.1 (FixPack 5 or later) IBM Oracle* 11G, 10G, 9i
Note: 11G is supported for ODBC data connection only.Oracle Tested ODBC Connections DB2 9.1, 8.1 (FixPack 5 or later) IBM Informix 10.0 using Informix Connect 3.5 IBM Microsoft Access Access 2002 with SP3 Microsoft Microsoft SQL Server SQL Server 2008, SQL Server 2005, and SQL Server 2000 with SP3 Microsoft Oracle 11G, 10G, 9i

* If you plan to use the Oracle Instant Client with the Oracle (Vendor-Supplied) data connection, you must choose the Administrator or Runtime installation type when installing the Oracle Client. Other installation types are not supported.
