After searching for a data connection, you can export the search results to your local system. The exported file is saved in the comma-delimited format (.CSV) with double-quotes so that you can use it in other applications. You can also export data connection metadata when you open an associated repository.

Note: Some of the column names are different in the exported file. For example, Connection Name is displayed as Name and Connection Type is displayed as Type.

To export data connection metadata

  1. Do one of the following:
    • Click Manage Data Connections and run a search. The Find Data Connections Search Results panel opens.
    • Open a single repository. The Data Connections tab (under the Repository: Name panel) opens showing metadata for all connections to which the repository has access.
  2. Select the data connections and columns you want to export. To select a row, click the check box, or anywhere in the row, to highlight it. To select multiple rows, press the Ctrl or Shift key and click the rows you want to export. To select all rows on a page, click Select Page.
  3. Click Export Results or Export Rows and select Export Selected Rows or Export All Rows. The Export Rows window opens.
Note: When you select Export All Rows and you have run a filtered search, only those data connections (rows) returned in the filtered results view will be exported.
  4. Enter a name for the file. Do not include any of the following invalid characters in the file name: \ / : * ? " < > |
  5. Click Export.
  6. Do one of the following:
    • Click Save. The file is exported to your browser's default download location: C:\Users\username\Downloads. If there is a file with the same name in the download location, the file name will be appended with a unique number.
    • Click Save As to save the file to a specific location. In the Save As window, browse to the location where you want to save the file and click Save. If there is a file with the same name in the download location, you are prompted to replace the file. Click Yes to replace the file or No and then enter a unique name. Click Save.
    • Click Save and Open to save the file to the default location and open the file now. If there is a file with the same name in the download location, the new file name will be appended with a unique number.
