Rule set attributes are attributes that are stored with a rule set in the Library. During data association, you map the rule set attributes to data source attributes. This mapping ensures that the appropriate data in the mapped data source attribute columns are analyzed during business rules analysis. Additionally, any changes to rules in the rule set are propagated to all mapped data sources thereby ensuring minimum maintenance and duplication of effort.

A rule set has its own set of attributes that are independent of those in other rule sets. A rule set attribute has the following metadata columns.

Note:

An asterisk (*) indicates that the column displays by default.

Column Description
Attribute ID* Shows the unique ID of an attribute within a rule set. By default, the attributes are listed in descending order where the newest attribute ID is listed at the top while the oldest attribute is listed at the bottom. You can sort the attribute rows by ID value and list them in ascending order using the instructions in Sorting Tab Rows.

Attribute Name*

Attribute name.

Note:

If an attribute is used in a rule, you cannot edit the name.

In Use*

Shows whether an attribute is used by a rule in the rule set. Valid values are Yes or No.

Note:

If an attribute is used in a rule, the value is Yes.
