You can open a single data connection for viewing and modify certain data connection details at any time. Depending on the type of data connection, the Administration Center allows you to edit the connection description, data directory and schema directory location, file extensions, DSN, TNS name, and other details. You can also enable or disable the connection, apply or remove single sign-on, and edit the list of repositories with access.

You cannot modify the data connection name, ID, or type.

Note: You edit one data connection at a time.

To modify data connection properties

  1. Do one of the following:
    • Click Manage Data Connections from the navigation menu. Search for the repository you want to edit. In the Repository Results view, go to the Repositories tab and double-click the repository you want to modify.
    • Find a data connection from the Home page, either from the Edit panel or by double-clicking a row in the Data Connections at-a-glance view.
    • From the Data Connection tab when you open a repository for editing. Double-click a row to open the connection.

The Data Connection: Name panel opens. Below the panel, the Repositories tab displays a list of all repositories currently associated with the data connection.

  2. Clear or check Enabled as needed. When selected, the data connection is not available for use.
  3. Modify editable properties as needed. For example, for COBOL, delimited, or fixed-length, you can modify the Data Directory and Schema Directory paths and update the associated file extensions. For HDFS Delimited, you can modify the NameNode Address as well.
  4. Optional: Edit the Data Connection Name and change the Data Connection Type.
  5. If all repositories have access, click All.If you want to select repositories that can access the connection, click Selected, then Edit Access List. For more information, see Editing Repository Access List.
  6. Click Done to save your changes.
  7. Click Save to close the Data Connection: Name panel and return to the previous view.
