You can search for some or all data connections residing on the current repository server. Use the Show All option to return a view of all available connections. Use the Filtered Search option to narrow your search using one or more conditions. For each condition, optionally add one or more sub-groups. Adding a sub-group refines the search by categorizing the results. For example, you can build the following condition and sub-group to find data connections with permissions to access all available data connections excluding the connection named delimited: "Repository Access equals All" and "Connection Name does not contain delimited".

Note: When creating a filtered search, click Hide to remove the filter panel and see only the summary of your filter criteria. Click Show to display the filter panel.

To search for data connections

  1. Do one of the following:
    • On the navigation menu, click Data Access > Manage Data Connections.
    • On the Home page, on the Data Connections at-a-glance view, click View All.

The Find Data Connections panel opens showing the Show All and Filtered Search options. By default, the Show All search is active and the view populated with all data connections on the current repository server.

You can also run a quick data connection search using the Find Panel on the Home page.

  2. To run a search using conditions:
    1. Click Filtered Search. The conditions panel opens.
    2. Select the ALL (default) or ANY operator to build one or more conditions.
    3. Build your conditions by selecting the metadata (left drop-down list), operators (middle drop-down list), and populating the right text box or drop-down list depending on the metadata and operators you select:
      • Click the data connection metadata drop-down list (left) and select one of the following options:

      Connection ID

      Date Created

      Note Count

      Connection Name

      Description

      Parameters

      Connection Type

      Repository Access

      Created By

      Enabled

      Single Sign-On

      Date Changed

      Filter

      • Click the operator drop-down list (middle) and select from the available options:

      contains

      equals

      is before

      does not contain

      does not equal

      is before or equals

      starts with

      greater than

      is after

      ends with

      less than

      is after or equals

Note: Depending on the metadata selected, not all operators are available.
      • In the text box (right), enter the keyword by which to filter the connections. The text string you enter is not case-sensitive. For some metadata selections, text boxes are replaced with a drop-down list of additional metadata to choose:
