Syncsort™ Capacity Management connects to SQL Server databases through standard Microsoft driver modules. As of June 30, 2018, all supported browsers and platform providers deprecated the TLS 1.0 security protocol. You can disable TLS 1.0 in-flight by adjusting registry keys and most Microsoft products no longer use it, including SQL Server.
To ensure connectivity to all applications is maintained, from Athene 12.50 onwards, you must install the
Microsoft OLE DB Driver for SQL Server software on any machine running any of the following Syncsort™ Capacity Management Core applications.-
Analyst
-
Automatic Reporting through the Schedule Editor, including Advisor and Define a Report
-
Data Management
-
Planner (Build or Edit Baseline for System z or non-System z)
This is Microsoft software and is not provided by Precisely. The following URL indicates the necessary actions, should the native client not already be available in your install environment: Microsoft OLE DB Driver for SQL Server.
Microsoft OLE DB Driver for SQL Server (v18.*) is supported by default, in general requiring no registry change. "Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Native Client" and "Microsoft OLE DB Driver 19 for SQL Server" are also both supported using a registry override as follows:
Open regedit and navigate to this location. If the key does not exist
create it.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Metron\Shared
Under this registry key, create or update the following two REG_SZ string fields:
If in programs and features ‘Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Native Client’- DBConDriver = ‘SQL Server Native Client 11.0’
-
DBConProvider = ‘SQLNCLI11’
-
DBConDriver = SQL Server
- DBConProvider = MSOLEDBSQL19
If you have questions about this, consult your own Windows and SQL Server administrators for advice.
If this is not installed errors will appear relating to ODBC or OLEDB drivers when using these applications. If you see this, verify that the driver is installed, and if it is present then contact Precisely support.
