The Data Summarizer feature, introduced in version 11.20, automatically summarizes and eventually, if required, deletes historic data collected via the Integrator.
It has now been enhanced to support aggregation and deletion of Integrator, z/OS System and Job data, VMware vCenter Server, Host and VM data, and Windows System, IIS, Exchange and SQL Server data.
In Version 12.40, you can select Groups and/or Targets to restrict the aggregation and/or deletion to those Targets that you selected or that are contained within the Groups.
The Data Summarizer enables much larger volumes of data to be aggregated and deleted, in much shorter periods of time than Data Management.
For new customers, Precisely strongly recommends turning on the Data Summarizer soon after installation and specifying the ages at which data is summarized to hourly values, daily values, or deleted from the database altogether. Over time, as the historic data builds up in your database, the summarization will start to automatically reduce the database once the data reaches the ages defined.
