Acquire for Windows is digitally signed to provide reassurance to customers that this software is genuine. Until 12.10 version it was possible to upgrade an already installed Acquire through an auto-update facility. As part of security of this operation, the installed Acquire checks for some properties of the auto-update module and will fail to execute if it does not comply with expectations.
The auto-update module for Acquire for Windows v12.40 has, of necessity, had some properties altered and will fail to run. It will only produce a Windows event log message to say so however, there is no feedback to Control Center or System Manager. To avoid problems for users, Acquire for Windows auto-update facility is not available in this version..
To upgrade an already installed Acquire for Windows to this version you can either manually execute the Acquire.exe program on each system, or you can use the Acquire.MSI in interactive or silent mode. The software will upgrade without any issue.
