Specific errors of type PDBUpdateError are listed below:

Error Message

Further details

Any further actions to take before sending us the data required

No database target for target <target number> with database <data file name>

Control Center cannot find a database target to associate with is data file.

Either change the capture profile to stop this data being captured or create the appropriate database.

Negative interval length

Processing PS data. Negative interval lengths should not be possible so there is probably an issue with the ps data capture

Check the crontab and APMconfg on the UNIX machine. If it is invalid then resend the capture profile, if not then there is an issue with the install of the UNIX Acquire.

Interval length invalid - too long.

Processing PS data. This error is raised of the interval length is greater that 7 days

Check the crontab and APMconfg on the UNIX machine. If it is invalid then resend the capture profile, if not then there is an issue with the install of the UNIX Acquire.

Error during update: Index # <i> Message: <message> LineNumber: <line> State: <error state> Procedure: <name> Number: <error num> Class: <error class>

Processing PS data. An error occurred trying to update the User Command table.

Sample already exists in a_u_acc_Sample table

OR

Sample already exists in a_u_acczone_Sample table

Processing PS data. Control Center has already processed this data sample into the Capacity Database.

Problem matching measurement period in a_u_acc_Period

Or

Problem matching measurement period in a_u_acc_Period - file may be out of sequence

OR

Problem matching measurement period in a_u_acczone_Period

Or

Problem matching measurement period in a_u_acczone_Period - file may be out of sequence

Processing PS data into the accounting measurement period. The PS file may be being processed out of sequence.

No matching period in a_u_acc_Period table

OR

No matching period in a_u_acczone_Period table

When processing an AC data file, the PS data for the time range is expected to have been processed into the accounting measurement periods already. This error occurs if it cannot be found in the Capacity Database.

Check that in System Manager the UNIX options for this target do not have ‘Ignore process data’ checked.

Negative interval length.

This indicates that the data file has been corrupted as we would not expect a negative interval length.

Error during rollback: <message>

OR

Error during rollback: Index # <i> Message: <message> LineNumber: <line> State: <error state> Procedure: <name> Number: <error num> Class: <error class>

Processing AC data: When rolling back a failed transaction an error occurred.

Error during update: <message>

OR

Error during update: Index # <i> Message: <message> LineNumber: <line> State: <error state> Procedure: <name> Number: <error num> Class: <error class>

Processing AC data: there is an unexpected error updating the database.

Error in Unix User Update: Cannot find target ID

Processing PS or AC data: Unable to find the Target ID for the file being processed.

Error in Unix User Update(GetTargetID):

Processing PS or AC data: An error occurred trying to read the TargetID from the database.

Too many timeouts in DoPSUpdate - dropping interval

Control Center retries 3 times to process PS data after a SQL Server Timeout. If all retries fail the data interval is dropped

Check the performance of the SQL Server

Athene 8 does not support NS or NU file types

Trying to process Athene 6 Windows data files. This should never happen as we do not support this version of the Acquire within any version of Athene 8.

Upgrade the Windows Acquire

Unable to read all newly created VMware targets

This is a warning showing that Control Center is very busy and because a large number of VMware targets are being created. Some targets may not start being processed until the next time Control Center refreshes its target details.
