The naming convention for an Acquire file is:
YYYYMMDDHHMMSS_<file type><data type><Target Number>.<extension>
where:
-
YYYYMMDDHHMMSS is the timestamp when the file was written
-
file type is az if the file is compressed, or as if the file is not compressed
-
data type is described below, in the section for each target type (Windows, UNIX, etc.)
-
Target Number is the unique 8-digit target number that identifies the source of the data to Control Center and System Manager.
There is one exception to this: for data from z/OS only, Control Center recognizes a special “target number” of MULTIZOS. This indicates that the file contains data from more than one target system, and the target numbers are contained within the data file itself. For more information on this point, refer to Installing Acquire for zOS section in Syncsort Capacity Management Installation Guide.
-
extension is an increasing hexadecimal sequence number.
After a file has been successfully collected, it is marked as a candidate for deletion by being renamed. This is done automatically by the collection process. It is renamed by being prefixed with the letter “r”.
