When looking to report on specific Jobs in an Application the Available Instances tree will be quicker to load and navigate if you know that a specific Job is part of an Application.
For example: I have already created a Query called 'Started Tasks' that filters Job Type to 'STC'. Expanding the 'Started Tasks' instance in the Available Instances tree only displays Job Names of that type.
