This page allows you to customize the alert content by adding the required event fields and modifying the text in the fields. The default for an Event Rule is to copy values from the event into the alert.

This tab allows you to enter whatever you want - plain text or values from the event. Much like the filters in the previous tabs, you can use variable names to get the data held within the event. However, these fields need to be wrapped with ‘${}’. For example, to access the service, view color would be ‘${service_color}’.

The Event Rules that are available as part of Syncsort™ Capacity Management, and are loaded from the two xml files, come with two modifications from the base Alert (the base alert being a copy of the event):
  1. Severity
The severity is hard coded in the event rule.
    • Grey and Green is set to 0 (clear)

    • Amber is 4 (Warning)
    • Red is 3 (Minor)

You can change these to fit your business needs, especially when combined with the correct filtering.

  2. Message Key

A message key is added when creating the Alert to help with filtering.
