When a Gatekeeper file has been processed Control Center sets a field in a database table to hold the next expected date and time of data. If the next set of data is a Gatekeeper file it will have its first date and time checked against the next expected value. If they join up without a gap, data will be processed as normal. If not – if the new data would make a gap, or if the new data somehow goes back in time from the next expected one – collection will be suspended.

When a file is suspended (and by implication all other files for a given target), you must set a new “next expected” date and time that at least matches the actual “next” data file, or you can set it later if you are happy for Control Center to arbitrarily process data up to that point.

This is explained further later in this document.
