Using Data Management, you can delete:
Some or all of the Measurement Periods (that is, the data) from a target; and/or
The target definition.
It is the deletion of the target definition that can cause Control Center issues. To ensure that deletion is carried out cleanly, Syncsort™ Capacity Management must obtain exclusive locks on data to avoid the data being changed while any deletion is in progress. Currently Syncsort™ Capacity Management takes a “belt and braces” approach to locking to ensure there is no possibility of data integrity issues, but this can lead to key data being locked for long periods of time. This can cause Control Center threads to hang and lead to SQL Server time outs, roll-back processing, and other problems.
