This feature has been deprecated, use Secure FTP Push where possible. This uses the File Transfer Program at:

%SystemRoot%\SysWOW64\ftp.exe (typically c:\windows\ SysWOW64\ftp.exe)

  • Add this program to the firewall exceptions list on the Acquire host system.

We found in testing that some FTP servers carry out an ident check against any client connecting to them. In our environment, this was done on TCP Port 113 on the client. By default Windows Firewall will block this query, and cause a 10-20 second delay per connection attempt.

Unfortunately it is not possible for Precisely to know which FTP servers require an ident. We suggest that should you implement Windows Firewall on your Push Acquire hosts, and you notice that connection to the Push FTP server is very slow, you should open the ident port (for us it was TCP port 113) on the Acquire Firewall Exceptions list.
