Examining your data
You can have Acquire examine your data for the SMF records it needs, and have it tell you useful information about it prior to running the data collection.
The numbers of SMF and RMF records that are present in the input data. Use this information to confirm that the SMF dataset contains useful numbers of records of the required types. This is discussed in the section Interpreting the output from a SCAN run.
The SMF IDs and timestamps of the Type 70 RMF records that are present.
A list of any CICS APPLIDs and DB2 subsystem names present and analysis of whether or not CICS dictionary records were present, or if not, if the automatic internal dictionary could be used.
A number of summaries of the environment - machine make and model, numbers of CPUs by type (CP, zIIP etc).
The low and high SMF dates and times, plus a detailed list of every RMF interval detected for each SMF ID present in the input data.
