Figure 1. Dialog for specifying Oracle account details to a legacy Acquire
- In the upper boxes, enter the DB_DOMAIN (e.g., WORLD) and the DB_NAME (e.g., met1) parameters for the database that you want Acquire to monitor.
- In the lower boxes, enter the user name and the password of the Oracle account that Acquire can use to access the database.
Target Computer Name
You can use the
Accounts.exe program to set the Oracle account details for an
Acquire running on another Windows system. To do this:
- Fill in the name of the remote computer running Acquire in the Computer Name field. If the Acquire is running on the system that you are currently working with, leave the Computer Name field blank.
- The Target Computer box relates to where the Acquire is running, not to where the Oracle instances may be located.
- Click Apply to save the information.
- You can now key in details of another Oracle domain and database name, with its particular Username and Password, [and optionally Computer Name] and Apply that.
Finally, click OK to close the dialog.
