The next step is to configure Acquire using the APM_SETUP script, which you will find in the directory where you installed Acquire for VMS. This asks you for the UIC number and the mail user to be used to inform of problems. When you have supplied these, the script then runs various VMS commands after which you will also be asked if you want to start up APM.
The default is No. Entering Yes submits the APM_MANAGER job to begin
looking for configuration files to process.

Starting APM will submit the APM_MANAGER management process, but no actual data capture will be performed until an appropriate Capture Profile is supplied from Control Center.
