In normal operation the controlling APMCONFG.TXT file is created by the Syncsort™ Capacity Management Control Center. However if there is no link to Control Center then a copy of the file may be edited manually to control data capture, although a better option is to have Control Center generate the file and copy it from the Work\Out\tgtnnnnnn.ready folder.
The file APMCONFG.TXT file needs to go into a directory called APMCFG_<nodename> and the node name must match the target name in Syncsort™ Capacity Management. If you are transferring it by hand, copy it in as a different name, e.g., NEWCONFG.TXT and when it is there and ready to be used, rename it to APMCONFG.TXT. Doing this avoids the detection process for a new configuration file “seeing” it when it is not quite ready for use.
Note however that this should only be done where necessary, as the format of this file may be quite complex. Contact the Precisely’s Syncsort™ Capacity Management Product Support for further details.
